David Minton is an award-winning freelance photojournalist living in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally from Humble, Texas, he is a graduate of the University of North Texas' Mayborn School of Journalism. He started his freelance career during college, and this time included stints as a team photographers for the University of North Texas athletic department and Major League Soccer team FC Dallas. David was a staff photographer at the Denton Record-Chronicle from 2009 through 2016 and served as photo editor for many of the special publications produced by the newspaper. While at the DRC he earned numerous Texas Associated Press Managing Editor awards, Texas Press Association, Texas Daily Newspaper Association and National Press Photographer’s Association awards. He is currently a staff photographer for Times Media Group in Tempe, crisscrossing The Valley daily creating compelling photography for more than a dozen of their publications.
